Service Through Ministry
Here at First Baptist Church of Sterling it is our belief that we shall serve the Body of Christ, the congregation and the community through a spirit of giving and service to meet the needs of all those God brings to us. We offer ministries that meet the needs of God’s people and allow us to be servants of God’s purpose. For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve and to give His life as a ransom for many.
There are a number of ways for you to get more involved and become a part of our ministry:
Service Through Wellness
Exodus 15:2 tells us "The Lord is my strength and my song; he has given me victory. This is my God, and I will praise him — my father’s God, and I will exalt him!" Through our spiritual strength; be it professional, physical, or spiritual, we lift ourselves to the glory of our father.
Service Through Supporting Our Communities
FBC of Sterling supports our community through various opportunities to meet the needs of those we serve. The word of God says in best in Jams 2:14-17- 14 What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him? 15 If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food, and one of you says to them, “Depart in peace, be warmed and filled,” but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit? Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.
The Bible tells us that each of us should use whatever gift we have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace. Let us rejoice in God’s goodness and mercy by our reasonable service unto God in our service to others.
